About Image Color Extractor

Upload any image and extract dominant, secondary, and accent colors via K-Means. Apply results to your project or export as CSS and JSON. Fully browser-based. Image processing runs entirely in your browser — nothing gets uploaded — and the K-Means clustering typically resolves in a couple of seconds.

Good for pulling a usable color direction out of a reference image fast: a photo, a packaging sample, or a client's mood board, without manually eyedropping and comparing swatches.

Common questions

  • How do I get colors from an image? Upload a photo and the tool clusters its pixels into representative colors, returning a ready-to-use palette you can apply or export.
  • How many colors should I extract? Five or six is a good default — enough for a base, a couple of supporting tones, and an accent without muddy in-between colors.
  • Does my image get uploaded to a server? No. Extraction runs in your browser; the image is processed locally and isn't sent anywhere.
